Not for the Faint of Heart

I know I haven't been keeping up here as well as I should, but things at school are HARD. Anatomy and Physiology are HARD. I have another nutrition exam tomorrow. Well, okay, that class is not hard. It is a total pleasure, just as I knew it would be. My only problem with that class is that it comes after weightlifting and, because I invariably forget to bring a little snacky, I'm ragingly hungry and we spend two hours talking about food. And then, I generally run the 4.5 miles home.

We finished bones in Anatomy and now we're on to muscles. For one thing, there is exponentially more memorization involved, since, for muscles, you need to know where the muscle originates, where it inserts, and what action it produces. The other little issue is that while looking at bones was not really any problem at all, examining muscles requires the use of a cadaver.

I was pretty sure I would end up just hanging back and looking, but it turns out that to really memorize and learn the stuff, I had to glove up and actually touch and move the revealed muscles on the cadaver. It really called into question my commitment to eating meat.

I really needed a drink after class that night, but I ended up falling asleep before I could open a bottle of wine.
